Lions District 306D12 Hosts "Learn to Lead" School for Cabinet & Club Officers
Lions District 306D12 successfully convened its "Learn to Lead" school program for Cabinet and Club Officers on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Kubera Mahal Wedding Hall, Suthumalai. The comprehensive one-day training initiative, designed to equip current and aspiring leaders with essential skills, saw enthusiastic participation from across the district.
The program, commencing at 8:30 AM, featured an inaugural session that included the reception of dignitaries, the lighting of the oil lamp, and the recitation of the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance. District Governor Lion Dr. K.M Pathmanathan MJF MAF delivered the opening address, emphasizing the importance of strong leadership within the Lions movement.
Key sessions throughout the day focused on various aspects crucial for effective club and district operations. Session 1 covered introductions to guest speakers and the training pathway. "Leadership & Visibility Session: Leading with Heart, Sharing with Impact," a core component of the morning, delved into active listening, conflict resolution, international opportunities for Lions, attracting volunteers, and leveraging social media.
The afternoon sessions were equally robust, beginning with a "Cabinet Officers' Session" that explored "The Backbone of Leadership," covering planning, program implementation, and monitoring. Concurrently, "Club Presidents' Session" focused on the role of the Club President, working together for a successful year, and achieving club-level missions.
Dedicated sessions for Club Secretaries and Club Treasurers followed, addressing responsibilities, effective club meetings, financial records, reporting, and fundraising. The program also included vital discussions on Protocols & Procedures, Membership Approach, Extension Programs, and an introduction to the GST annual plan.
A significant part of the afternoon was dedicated to LCIF – Our Foundation, Our Future and an introduction to GLT Programs, highlighting the global initiatives and leadership development opportunities available to Lions. The school concluded with a performance evaluation and closing remarks by GLT District Coordinator Lion S. Senthilgumaran.
The "Learn to Lead" school underscored Lions District 306D12's commitment to fostering a new generation of capable and dedicated leaders, ensuring the continued success of their humanitarian service efforts within the community. The program culminated with the presentation of tokens of appreciation and certificates to all participants.
